General Information:South Africa is by far the best known and economically the richest country in the Region. It has a population of 44.8 million people with 34% of the population ( 15,2 million) children under the age of 15 years. The literacy, income, calorie intake etc. can be compared with all first world countries. However much still have to be done so that all people will learn to love each other. The biggest problems in South Africa at the moment is that they don't only have high rates in good things but also in the bad. The divorce rate, crime rate and AIDS are of the highest in the world. We know that apartheid, etc created a lot of problems, but it did not create all the problems. However, CEF Southern Africa/Indian Ocean Region has the solution. If all children can get to know the Lord, the heart of the country will be changed and the next generation will not have the problems of the past. Children are "colour blind" and naturally peace loving. Pray for Rev David van Heerden and his C.E.F team in South Africa. Pray for Spiritual strength in their lives so that they can meet the needs of the children of South Africa. CEF are working more than 50 years in South Africa and have reached 90 873 children during 2005 of which 22 418 children accepted the Lord Jesus as their Savior. More than 64 000 children are reached weekly. There are 376 Good News Clubs running weekly .as well as 217 regular School Classes.
CEF South Africa has 25 full time workers and a
team of 320 volunteer workers. There are 3 missionaries
from other countries working here and South Africa has sent out
